GOD HAS A WAY

Ezekiel 37:10

In that prophetic passage Ezekiel 37, when the preacher preached, the Spirit moved, the bones came together, and a miracle took place. The whole house of Israel stood upon her feet an exceeding great army, ready for war and battle (Ezekiel 37:10). A miracle took place when the preacher preached in obedience to the Lord’s command. When the preacher preaches, miracles take place. There is just something about the preached word. Mark informs his readers “And they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following. Amen” (Mark 16:20). As we resolutely preach His word, we have the divine assurance that He will confirm His word with signs.

You can never get us to stop believing in the miraculous demonstration of God’s supernatural power to corroborate His word.  I am looking for miracles to take place in my life, in my marriage, in my finances, on my job, in my church, in my environment and in my community. The prophet simply said, “So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking and the bones came together, bone to his bone” (v7).

It seemed dead and hauntingly eerie, but God moved. It seemed hopeless, but the spirit of God intervened, and the signs of death, dryness and despair receded as life came back in. Life came back into the valley. The whole house was restored, and even those who felt completely lost and cut off, experienced a move of God in a most unprecedented fashion (v.11

Our amazing God has a way of always bringing something out of nothing. He has a way of standing on the banks of the Red Sea and commanding His people to march forward as on dry land. He has an unusual way of bringing His people redemption and release. In the Scriptures He majestically walked up to dead bodies and spoke life back into them, reintroducing hope even after the funeral. He had a way of messing up funerals. He has an exceptional way of walking into the enemy’s territory and taking over. He has a unique way of silencing demons and taking over and taking charge. Our God has a way of having His own way and always winning the day for us. The apostle Paul declared “… his ways are past finding out…” (Rom. 11:35).

Our God really has a way of making a way out of no way – of taking five barley loaves and two fishes and feeding a multitude, not just once, but twice. He has a way of making the dumb people talk and talking people dumb – of making blind people see and seeing people blind! The Word declares “Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as a hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing; for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert” (Isaiah 35:5,6).

For many of you it may seem dark, distressing and foreboding as you endure another trial but let me simply remind you today that God has a way. Even as you listen to the preached word again, please do so with greatest expectation, for He has a most extraordinary way in remarkably confirming His word with signs following. He will bring you out! He has a way!
