Hebrews 4:16

Like recent years, 2024 threatens to be a most ominous year, filled with much drama, stress, strain, and intrigue. Already, much has happened to inform us that the enemy certainly has no intention of suspending his evil onslaught against the Kingdom of light. What Satanic mischief failed to achieve in 2023, you can rest assured the enemy is planning to accomplish in 2024.

It is uncanny how relentless the enemy remains in inflicting irreparable distress and misery upon the commonwealth of believers. In these last days, evil intensifies! However, in the face of rampant evil, we remain undaunted!

Scriptures challenge us, in no uncertain terms, to hold fast to our profession – to cling tenaciously to our confession, to hold firmly to the faith that we profess, especially in these last times. As the enemy fights, we daringly fight back. Our unveiled intention is to give up no ground in 2024. We desire only to strive for more in 2024! What we have is worth keeping and protecting. We steadfastly resist all the opposing forces of darkness. We stand firm against all evil!

Today, we receive encouragement and inspiration from the writer of the book of Hebrews as he insightfully tells us about our great high priest, Jesus, the Son of God who is now passed into the heavens (v14). The implication is our help comes from none other than the great high priest who is in the most exalted position to hear and help all who come to him with any need.

He makes it plain that this great high priest is not untouchable, out-of-touch, proud, or indifferent, but one who is relatable and uniquely in sync with our feelings of pain and our reality. Having been through weakness and testing like the saints, He can indeed so skillfully and masterfully help us through all that we face and experience today and every day moving forward!

In 2024, we cannot give in, back down, or surrender to the enemy no matter how dark and depressing things may become! Our great high priest stands with outstretched arms, dispensing blessings over us, constantly interceding for us, and beckoning us to come courageously to the throne of grace. Here we obtain perpetual mercy! We find grace to help! We, therefore, will valiantly face all the vicissitudes of 2024, holding fast to our profession, faithfully to the end. No giving up! No surrender! We fearlessly confront 2024! We contradict all the propositions of darkness!
