Bishop Leroy Greenaway
Leroy Victor Stephen Greenaway was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. He is the fifth child of eight children to William David and Carmen Greenaway. He was converted at the early age of twelve, a second-generation Church of God of Prophecy preacher. Leroy began preaching around the age of fourteen and was called to his first pastorate at the age of nineteen.
After attending school in Trinidad where he majored in the languages, he then migrated to Cleveland Tennessee, USA where he attended Tomlinson College and Lee University respectively. He graduated from Lee University in 1981 with a BA in Sociology, magna cum laude and a minor in Biblical Studies. In 2010 he graduated from the Palmer Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in May 2019 with a Doctor of Ministry degree.
A minister in the Church of God of Prophecy, Leroy has travelled extensively, preaching the gospel throughout the Caribbean, the US, Canada and England, serving as evangelist, camp meeting speaker, and youth camp evangelist.
In 1985 he migrated to Toronto, Canada to take up a position as Youth Pastor of the Pape Avenue Church of God of Prophecy. The same year he was asked to accept a pastorate in Montreal, Quebec. After 17 years the Montreal West congregation grew from 89 to over 300 under the ministry of Bishop Greenaway. In July 2002 he was appointed as Regional Overseer to the Mid-Atlantic Region, where he served for 12 years. On December 1st, 2014 he was reassigned to the North East Region where he presently serves the areas of Bermuda, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
He is married to the former Christina Kelly of Birmingham, England, also a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. They are blessed to have two children, Jessica a graduated 2019 with a Master of Education in School Counselling. Their son James graduated from Eastern University, with his BA in Communications and is pursuing his MA in Organizational Management.
